recently stayed at carlton hotel and had an absolutely wonderful experience. From the moment I arrived, the staff were welcoming, professional, and always ready to assist with a smile.The room was spotlessly clean, spacious, and beautifully decorated, with all the modern amenities I needed. The bed was extremely comfortable, and the view from my window was stunning. Housekeeping did a fantastic job throughout my stay.
The room is very clean and the beds very comfortable. The hotel was quiet and the staff very friendly when we arrived. We didn't have any food there or take advantage of any communal spaces so can't couch for that but location, cleanliness and comfort
This is like an grand old lady, in need of some TLC and investment. The staff are extraordinary and try to make your stay as good as possible. However, there are some glaring omissions that need addressing. I am a disabled pensioner and stairs are a MAJOR problem for me...I requested a room on a lower floor and ended up on the 3rd!!! There are 17 steps to enter and leave the property, unless the bar is open? Breakfast is available, IF more than 5 people request it. The room I had was spectacular the bed was awful. Due to my disability I was unable to use the bath...which was FULL size, but impossible for me to get into. Therefore I resorted to sitting on the edge and running the shower over me. The heating was hit and miss, but when it worked it was excellent. I requested an extra blanket on my bed on the 1st night and they supplied a winter tog duvet. These things are the good and the bad, of a stay here. Overall the stars of the show were the amazing staff...but unfortunately they are not enough for a return visit from my perspective. But for an able bodied person this is a great option and I would recommend it.

The room was spacious, very clean, and well-maintained, with all the necessary amenities. The bed was super comfortable, ensuring a great night’s sleep. The location was perfect—close to main attractions, restaurants, and transport, but still quiet enough to relax. The breakfast offered a wide variety of fresh and tasty options, and the overall atmosphere of the hotel was warm and inviting. I highly recommend this hotel to anyone visiting the area. I’ll definitely be coming back on my next trip!
The staff were super friendly. The location is great, central to everything, the theatre is just opposite, the town centre a few minutes walk away. I had a king bed, it was extremely comfortable.
Upon arrival, staff very welcoming and helpful, arranging parking for us, and offering room choice, bath or shower. This is our 3rd stay, great location for all of Eastbourne, BN 21 for Theatre, Art Gallery and sea front. The combination of hotel facilities, cleanliness and fantastic price makes this hotel one id highly recommend.
Very helpful reception/manager. The room was nice and clean. Good quality linen. Shower pressure decent. The shower room is a little outdated but it was very clean and fit for purpose, so no complaints. The communal parts looked freshly decorated. I would stay there again.
The outside doesn't do the inside justice. Well decorated. The room was basic and suited for my requirements of one night. The location is well placed to the beach and the railway station.
